Science for young children (4-7 years old)

We’re offering special science workshops throughout the year for young children aged 4-7 years, accompanied by their adult. Each workshop is 1 hour long and is £5 per child.

November 3rd 2018 Whizz Popping Science

Whizz Popping Science is inspired by Bonfire Night. On November 3rd from 10-11, at Barnstaple Library in room 3B (where the WOW scrapstore is). Activities include Fireworks in a Jar density experiment, Whizz popping eruptions, Fizzing Fireworks paintings & Lava Lamps (take home)

December 1st 2018 Spy Science

Spy Science is on December 1st from 10-11 at St Anne’s Arts & Community Centre (that lovely old chapel near the pannier market) in Barnstaple. At Spy Science you’ll learn all the skills needed to be a secret agent, such as deciphering secret messages, finding hidden clues & fingerprinting. This workshop comes with a free gift for young spies – awesome! (choose between a spy mug or a spy notebook).
