Here you’ll find information about our family and community science events. Come and join our 5* reviewed, fun & educational science workshops, clubs & events in Devon and beyond. Children learn about science topics whilst having loads of fun, they get to try something unique and different as well as have brand new experiences.

In line with the commencement of Step 3 of the roadmap, indoor extra-curricular activities for children will be able to take place in groups of any number.

We will be adhering to the current government guidelines regarding children’s workshops, details of which can be found here.

Our Covid Risk assessment can be given on request but includes

  • Reduced size workshops to suit the venue capacity.
  • Children will be asked to wash hands at regular intervals during their day.
  • The activities has been designed to ensure social distancing can be followed by children and instructors.
  • Equipment cleaned prior and after use.

Summer Holiday Clubs (full days)

Join us for 4 packed days full of science tricks, messy experiments, fun games and science crafts in Barnstaple. This year our theme is Viking Science!

We’re THRILLED to be able to offer safe, enjoyable activities for children and young people during the holidays on the following dates

Social distancing and additional hygiene and safety measures will be in place according to the Gov guidelines at the time, to make it COVID secure.

Our sessions will not only help take some the pressure off parents/carers during the summer holidays but they’ll also help to enable your children to build their confidence, self-esteem and make new friends.

Summer Holiday Workshops

Nature Detectives (natural science workshop), South Molton

Ruth from Sciencedipity & Vicky from Wild Things Outdoors have hooked up to create a brand new workshop for you. Explore the peaceful nature at South Molton Community Woodlands, learn sampling techniques, how to use microscopes, use dichotomous trees to identify the critters we find. Play games and make natural artwork.

On July 28th.

Choose either the morning (10-12) or the afternoon session (1-3pm)

£12 per child, includes all resources and they take homes the things they’ve made.

Suit ages 5-12.
Parents can stay or drop off.
Held at South Molton Community Woodland.


A fun introduction to adaptation in animals followed by designing, building & battling motorised Dragons or other mystical creature of your choice. These robots are also called Vibro-bots.

£12.50 per child, includes all resources and they take home their motorised creature.

Suit ages 5/6 – 11.

Science Investigators for ages 4-7


Science Explorers for ages 8-11

Club 1 – Science Investigators (ages 4-7)

Hands on discovery and experiments for your little ones, every Saturday 10-10.45 starting on Sept 18th.

Only £30 per 6 week term which includes the British Science Association’s Star Award (child must complete 8 sessions to achieve this).

Bookings for term 1 includes a free lab coat!!


Club 2 – Science Explorers (ages 8-11)

Hands on experiments and challenges for older kids every Saturday 11-12, starting on Sept 18th.

Only £42 per 6 week term which includes the British Science Association’s Superstar Award (child must complete 8 sessions to achieve this).

Bookings for term 1 includes a free lab coat!!


Online Science classes, clubs & tuition
