Summer Science Club

Our online clubs & classes include the kit delivered to your door, so we can make science really fun and interactive for your budding scientist!

The Summer Science Club is is 45 mins each day via Zoom during the week of August 3 – 7th, it is a fully interactive, fun science session covering a different topic each day with awesome hands-on science activities, experiments & demonstrations and includes the Kit delivered to your door! (UK only).

There are 2 times/sessions to choose from:  morning 10-10.45 (SOLD OUT) or afternoon 1.30-2.15.

Day 1 – Rainbow Chemistry (Skittles, acids & bases & fizz)
Day 2 – Messy Science (oobleck & eruptions)
Day 3 – 3, 2, 1 Blast off! (rocket frogs & catapults)
Day 4 – Wacky Water (magical science with water)
Day 5 – Bubbly Potions (bubbles & lava lamps)

Only £40 for the week which includes the kit delivered to your door.

British Science Association Crest Award – this club PLUS the extension activities count towards the BSA’s Crest Award. If you’re not already registered you can do so here.

The kit includes our Lab Kit and most of the other resources you’ll need for the week (Skittles, templates, sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, balloons etc). There are a few items you’ll need to purchase/you’ve probably got at home, such as scissors, sellotape, oil….we’ll send you a list when you book.

Booking is essential as places are limited and, don’t forget, we need to send you that box of science goodies too!!

Science 1-2-1 classes

See how much fun science can be with your own 1-2-1 live science classes in the comfort and safety of your home on a day/time to suit you (subject to availability).

You book classes in bundles of 3 to enable consistency between lessons and this helps you get the most out of your Lab Kit (included in the price). The practical science sessions are 1 hour long and cover different topics.

Price is per family, NOT per child, and INCLUDES our latest Lab Kit (UK address only) full of laboratory goodies that your budding scientist will need in the science classes, delivered to your door.

2) Fizzy Science – Lava lamps, rainbow fizz, fizzy lemons, paper-towel magic

3) Pop & Zoom – Bubbleology, rocket frogs, hoop gliders, pom-pom launcher

4) Kitchen Chemistry – Fireworks on a jar, heavy CO2, we’ve got fleas! clever cabbage

5) Wacky Water – Growing giant gummy bears, clever water tricks, ice cube magic, blossoming flowers, draw on water

6) Bots & Buggies – doodle bots, balloon buggies, balancing butterflies

Book 3 classes + Lab Kit + extension ideas for £55

These classes are perfect for family groups and are aimed at children aged 5-10. They’ll work through fun activities live with us (such as pH testing, bubbly reactions, gliders, fizzy fruit & loads more), gain an understanding of the science behind the experiments with extension ideas so they can use the kit again long after the science class has finished.

If you need additional kits for siblings you can purchase them by clicking here (£7 each).

There are extra, inexpensive ingredients* that you will need to get hold of for these classes and we’ll send you the list by email at least a week before the class. A printer is also required for classes 3 & 6 to print off templates.

*Examples of things you’ll need include: oil, baking soda, vinegar, food colourings, plate, £1 electric toothbrush, scrap card, sellotape, permanent marker, felt tips, scissors, balloons, elastic bands….

GCSE tuition for 14-16 year olds/GCSE

Ruth, who runs Sciencedipity, is a biology teacher as well as a registered Biomedical Scientist. She currently teaches biology on a Plymouth University Bioscience degree, and offers private tuition at her home, as she does a lot of practical work with her students (once the pandemic is over!), and online. Ruth has taught iGCSE , Edexcel, and is particularly familiar with the AQA syllabus.

If you feel you need a boost in any of the sciences at KS3 level, perhaps a few hours or a weekly session, please get in touch. Price is £22 per hour.

If you have any gaps in your GCSE biology, perhaps a few hours are needed or you’d like a weekly session, please get in touch. Price is £25 per hour.

She currently teaches biology on a Plymouth University Bioscience degree, and offers private tuition at her home, as she does a lot of practical work with her students (once the pandemic is over!), as well as online tuition. Ruth has taught the Edexcel & AQA syllabusses. If you have any gaps in your A-level biology, perhaps a few hours are needed or you’d like more regular support, please get in touch. Price is £28 per hour.
